Made it to Lollapalooza! Solid trip highlighted by Arcade Fire, some good eats and a sunglass tan. I <3 Chicago!
Ended up watching sets by: New Pornographers, Neon Trees, Hot Chip, Lady Gaga, Strokes, Mornings Benders, Stars, Gogol Bordello, Spoon, Green Day, Phoenix, Dodos, Freelance Whales, Hockey and Arcade Fire.

I saw Telekinesis at the Echoplex yesterday. That venue is perhaps the weirdest venue I’ve ever been to. The Echoplex is actually the basement of the Echo. I had assumed that since it was in the basement, it’d be smaller than the already cramped Echo, but it’s actually bigger and has a more legitimate stage [...]

I knew Scrubs would probably be a show I would like because my brother likes it. However, I never had the drive to sit down and watch it until a friend at work recently loaned me the Scrubs season 1 dvd and forced me to watch it. I finished off season 1 in a few [...]

She & Him at the Wiltern was great. Their songs are very lyric-heavy so they mixed the mics nicely to avoid having the instruments drown out the vocals. Another important note: the band whistles really well and Zooey Deschanel plays an impressive fake trumpet. She & Him’s “Volumn One” might be my favorite album of [...]

It was fantastic seeing Rilo Kiley tonight at the Greek Theatre. I’ve been fortunate enough to have had good tickets to a few shows at the Greek and I have to say, pit ticket + summer evening + good band = some of the best shows [...]

I went to KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas night 2 yesterday and it was a pretty decent concert. I’ve been to a few radio concerts and the biggest downside of these is, since there is a large number of acts that play, it takes upwards of 30 minutes between performances to change the stage and perform [...]

It was the fourth time I’ve seen the Arcade Fire this year and it seriously never gets old. There are concerts where if you sit far enough from the stage, you feel detached from the action, like the energy from the stage didn’t quite make it back to where you’re sitting. That never happens with [...]

Susan got me some Kinder brand chocolate (pronounced kin-dur; means “children” in German). It’s tasty. Not only is it tasty, but according to wikipedia it’s “still a rarity in the United States and Canada” which makes it a collector’s item. Thanks, Vusan!
A full box of Kinder and Fresh Prince in the background; what more [...]
